I have to thank Paul Newman for making Cool Hand Luke, not because it’s a great ’60s film about non-conformism and the divide between old and young, free spirits and the establishment.. but because without it I’d probably have been named Jacob or something equally wack. Jquery has a handy way of allowing you to do stuff as soon as the document object model for a page has loaded (ie. as soon as the browser has loaded all your markup). I’m currently working on a project that requires Prototype JS, and I had some difficulty finding the equivalent method.. hence this post.

So on Saturday talk began to circulate that we were in for a big bout of stormage. Around 2pm some big winds kicked up and a couple of whales parked themselves in front of the harbour and began energetically waving their tales in the air whilst behind them the palm trees on the main road waved back.
